Another one of Martin Luther King’s most famous marches was when he led 250,000 euphoric supporters to the nation’s capitol, Washington D.C. on August 28, 1964. The name and objective of the march was “March on Washington for jobs and freedom. On that same day Martin Luther King Jr. gave his most famous speech the “I have a dream speech”.

The “I have dream” speech was spoken on Aug. 28, 1964 he delivered this speech in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Before the speech Martin Luther King had a planned out speech but Martin decided that this speech he had to speak from his heart, so most of his speech was impromptu. Although his speech was impromptu it was definitely his best speech.

On April 4, 1968 Martin met Ralph Abernathy at his motel and began planning a new march. “Tomorrow’s going to be a great day,” he shouted to Ralph. Inside his room, Ralph laughed. Then he heard a gunshot". Eventually Martin's killer was found, his name was James Earl Ray and he is currently serving a 99 year jail sentence.
